For roading and civil crews
Edge protection for roading and civil crews.
Working beside a steep drop? EdgeGuard puts a barrier in the way.
Road and bridge crews often work a few metres from a steep bank, gully, gorge or river. We install a physical guardrail along the road edge or bridge barrier before work starts, giving roading contractors, civil construction companies and maintenance teams a safer place to work. We are based in Whangārei and take on roading and civil projects right across the North Island.
Tell us where the job is, how long the run is, what the barrier is like and when you need it. We'll look at the site, then take care of delivery, install, dismantling and pick-up. Less time sorting fall protection, more time getting the road done.
About Edge Protection
What is roadside edge protection?

How it works
We look at the barrier, the drop and the length of the run before we quote.
Clamp brackets go onto the existing concrete barrier, or direct-fix where a clamp won't suit. Long runs go up in hours, not days.
It stays up for the length of the job, then we dismantle it and cart it off.
A concrete barrier stops vehicles, not people. Edge protection closes that gap, and it goes up far faster than scaffolding a roadside.

Recent Project
250 metres along a roadside gorge
We recently installed 250 lineal metres of roadside edge protection for a local roading contractor. The road ran beside a steep gorge, and workers doing construction and maintenance were exposed to a serious fall.
Our system went up along the existing concrete barrier using our clamp bracket, and the full 250 metres was in place within a few hours. The crew got a solid barrier between them and the drop, without days of scaffolding holding up the road.

How we can help

Clamp bracket system
Our clamp brackets are purpose-designed to secure guardrail to suitable existing concrete barriers on roadsides and bridges. Less drilling, and quick to put up and take down over long sections.

Direct-fix concrete bracket
Where a clamp won't suit, or a fixed install is the better option, our direct-fix bracket is mechanically anchored into suitable concrete structures.

Planned around your site
We look at the barrier and site conditions before we quote, so the system suits the road, the drop and the length of the job.
Serious about safety on every road job
Road crews work next to live traffic and a long drop. We treat the safety side of the job as seriously as the install, and keep it organised so nothing important gets missed.
Inspections, compliance and equipment checks run through EZICHEQ, a New Zealand safety platform built for construction and scaffolding.
Gear is tagged on site, so your crew can see at a glance that it has been checked.
Compliant edge protection that meets New Zealand safety standards for working at height.
Job information, inspections and equipment checks are kept organised and easy to find.

Keep your road crew clear of the drop.
Where your crew is working next to a steep drop, on a roadside or a bridge, and could fall from the edge, a guardrail is a practical way to manage that risk. We can look at the site and talk it through with you.
Often, yes. Our clamp bracket fits suitable existing concrete barriers on roadsides and bridges. If the barrier isn't suitable, our direct-fix bracket can be anchored into suitable concrete instead.
Not with the clamp bracket. The direct-fix bracket is mechanically anchored, so we use it where a fixed install suits the job.
Our most recent roadside job was 250 lineal metres, and the system adapts to long sections. Get in touch about anything longer.
